Bachelor In Paradise star Sam Cochrane has confirmed that he and Tara Pavlovic have ended their engagement – and their co-star isn’t surprised! The pair, who got engaged during the finale of the reality show, had only recently been forced to deny split rumours.
“I really liked both of them; however, I never thought it was a lifetime match,” Michael Turnbull tells OK! exclusively, after Tara, 28, chose Sam, 31, over the real estate agent. Now, Michael hints that, had Tara given him a chance, things may have turned out differently.
“Tara and myself had a very good and strong bond on the island before Sam was involved,” reveals Michael, who says that he and Keira Maguire were also getting close. “Who knows what could have happened if Keira didn’t take me away on that date?”
The 37-year-old adds that there was a “big drama” behind the scenes that night, after he and Keira returned, but remains coy about what went down. “They didn’t air the big drama between us on TV, as they were protecting certain people.”
So what went wrong? According to Michael, Tara and Sam realised that reality is no paradise.
“Dealing with ‘real outside world couple challenges’ was what ended it,” he says. “True relationships are not just sitting around drinking free cocktails on an island and going on fancy dates.”
