It was love at first sight for Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson

They’ve been married for nearly 28 years and it turns out Tom Hanks can remember the exact moment he fell for his wife, Rita Wilson.

According to the actor, their love story dates all the way to 1972 when a young Rita had a small role on The Brady Bunch.

“I was actually at a friend of mine’s house when it aired and I remember thinking ‘that girl’s cute,’” the Oscar winner revealed as he attended the New York premiere for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, which he co-produced with his wife.

The vintage clip shows a teenage Rita energetically audition for a cheerleading competition alongside Marcia Brady, played by Maureen McCormick.

Although it would be years until their paths crossed, Tom knew that he liked what he saw!

Too cute! Tom Hanks was smitten when he first caught sight of a young Rita Wilson on The Brady Bunch back in 1972.

Fast forward to 2016 and the pair, who share two sons together and two other sons from Tom’s first marriage to Samantha Lewes, are more in love than ever.

In fact, Tom is gearing up to go on the road with Rita as she travels around America to promote her upcoming self-titled LP.

“I’m gonna make him go to work, though. I’m gonna put him to work.”

“He’s gonna be selling merch in the lobby. I’m gonna put him out there like, ‘What?! Where are the totes,” Rita joked to E! News this week.
