Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson have reportedly become the proud grandparents to their third granddaughter after their son, Chet, “secretly fathered a daughter born in April.”
In Touch claim the couple’s troubled 26-year-old entered parenthood after a “drug-fueled one-night stand” with a lady called “Tiffany”.
Chet’s little girl is believed to live with her mother.
Despite the living arrangements, the newest member of the Hanks family is said to be extremely loved by her proud grandparents.
One source admitted, “They’ve fallen in love with the little girl!”
Adding, “They adore that baby and even spent Halloween with her. She will always be loved and taken care of by the Hanks family.”
The publication report that the Hollywood star, now 60, is supporting his son financially.
Tom and Rita are also parents to their 20-year-old son Truman, while Tom fathered his elder kids, Colin, 39, and Elizabeth, 34, with his first wife Samantha Lewes.
The Oscar winner is already playing the role of granddad to Colin and his wife Samantha Bryant’s two girls, five-year-old Olivia and three-year-old Charlotte.
In October 2015, though a series of Instagram videos, the then 25-year-old Chet admitted to using cocaine and crack.
“I’ve been in a rehab, right? I’m just trying to get my s— together. And I’m doing pretty damn good,” the aspiring rapper admitted.
Last year, Tom candidly chatted about his son’s ongoing struggle with addiction.
“As a parent, you love your kids unconditionally,” Tom told Entertainment Tonight at the New York premiere of his film Bridge of Spies. “You support them every step of the way.”
“You got to applaud the bravery and honesty when it actually comes out of your own house.”
