Internet goes berserk over Tom Cruise’s “puffy” face

Want to know the secret to defying the aging process? Ask these stars who seem to have travelled through time without a wrinkle.

Tom Cruise isn’t just one of the most eccentric A-Listers in Hollywood, he was also noted as one of the most ageless, until the internet turned on him at this Sunday’s BAFTAs.

Tom, 53, was a surprise presenter at the BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday when he announced the winners of Best Film but it was Katie Holme’s ex’s appearance, rather than the acceptance speech by the team behind The Revenant, that raised eyebrows at the London ceremony.

While the Jack Reacher star looked smart in a black Dolce & Gabbana suit many fans took to Twitter after Cruise was seen posing alongside fellow actor Leonardo DiCaprio and used choice words like ‘puffy’ and ‘inflated’ to describe his face.

Ruth Davidson, Leader of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party, tweeted: ‘Tom Cruise’s face. I don’t know what he’s doing to it, but he’s beginning to look like a late-90s era Sandi Toksvig. #EEBAFTAs.’

Scottish broadcaster Muriel Gray also commented: “Tragedy of Tom Cruise having ruined his lovely face, that was ageing beautifully, is that it’s gone for ever now like the Bamiyan Buddahs.”

It has been suspected that Tom has undergone the knife many times before and last week Tom’s Jerry Maguire co-star Cuba Gooding Jnr more than hinted his old pal had had some work done.

On Thursday’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” host Andy Cohen asked Cuba if Tom has had a little help holding onto his youthful looks to which Gooding enthusiastically replied “absolutely!”

“I don’t know what he’s had done, but I remember I surprised him at his house one day and he had all of these dots all over his face and I was like, ‘You all right?’ and he goes, ‘I didn’t know you were coming’ and I was like, ‘I can see why,” he explained to Cohen.

Our conclusion; people are bound to change between 1996 and 2016 so the internet needs to chill.
