As The Wiggles took the stage at Sydney’s Australia Day concert, there was something noticeably different about the much-loved band…
No blue, no yellow, no purple and no red. No Skivvies at all!
Instead, for this very special performance that took place at the Sydney Opera House on Thursday, the quartet decided to opt for civilian clothes.
Following the fantastic – if not, uncharacteristic – performance, The Wiggles spoke with Aussie TV presenter Grant Denyer about their bold choice.
Blue Wiggle, Anthony Field, revealed: “25 years we have never gone without a skivvy! But because it’s Australia Day, we did it for everybody. Come on!”
In response, Grant turned to the crowd saying, “You’ve witnessed history! History! On this proud day.”
Sadly, Dorothy the Dinosaur was not present at the occasion, although we would have quite liked to see her in a ballgown!

In another uncharacteristic move, the fun-loving band decided to swap their signature tracks of Hot Poppin’ Popcorn and Big Red Car for iconic Aussie rock and pop ballads including, John Farnham’s classic hit, You’re the Voice.
All eyes were on Red Wiggle Simon Pryce, who recently married his partner Lauren Hannaford.
The newlywed looked dapper in a tux and bow-tie as he mingled with his bandmates.
As always, Yellow Wiggle Emma Watson and husband Purple Wiggle Lachy Gillespie, stole our hearts as they embraced and danced along to the group’s rendition of Peter Allen’s Tenterfield Saddler.

Also present at the concert was iconic Aussie TV personality, singer and blonde beauty Kerri-Anne Kennerley.
The 63-year-old returned to live TV for the special event and was joined by her loving husband, John Kennerley – just 10-months after his serious fall that left him fighting for his life.
KAK took to Instagram to share how thankful she was to have John by her side. Kerri-Anne just to upload a shot of herself beaming with John and he smiles happily from his wheelchair.
Captioning the photo, she penned, “#australiadaylive with my one and only. Thank you for being by my side always.
Kerri-Anne looked stunning in a halter, floor length white gown, embellished at the neck with crystals which she completed with an elegant updo.
What a stunning night!
