They’re giving us what we really, really want! After months of teasing a reunion, it’s been revealed the Spice Girls will soon come together for a new movie… and this time around they’ll be superheroes!
Variety reports that, according to a source, “all five members of the group have signed off on their likenesses being used for a superhero-themed movie working off of the ‘girl power’ message.”
Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, and Geri Halliwell will reportedly voice their characters, who will each have a “girl power” unique to their personality.
The beyond exciting news follows a Spice Girls reunion that took place at the Hertfordshire home of Geri Horner, née Halliwell — a.k.a Ginger Spice.
The nineties supergroup came together for “top secret” discussions about a 2018 reunion, marking the first time in six years all five members were pictured together.
Following the catch-up, the group released a statement via Jo Milloy: “We have enjoyed a wonderful afternoon catching up and reminiscing about the amazing times we have spent together. . . . We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for the Spice Girls.”
The statement ended by confirming that, yes, something BIG would be headed our way this year.
“The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together,” they said through Milloy. “We all agree that there are many exciting possibilities that will once again embrace the original essence of the Spice Girls, while reinforcing our message of female empowerment for future generations.”

According to The Sun, the girls are also gunning for a slot at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming royal wedding.
“Geri suggested the Royal Wedding is a fantastic opportunity, and that they should offer to perform at the reception,” an insider explained.
“She has been told that Meghan was a big fan of the Spice Girls. And the wedding fits in perfectly with Geri’s idea that the reunion should be very British.”
“She sees it as a big part of their identity, and one they should keep.”
So far, no official comment has been made by the royals or the Spice Girls camp but a royal wedding would 100% one-up their 2012 performance at the London Olympics Closing Ceremony.
