As we eagerly await news of when The Block 2018 officially starts, Shelley Craft and Scott Cam let a few cats out of the bag about the 14th season of The Block and the transformation of the infamous Gatwick Hotel in St. Kilda.
The dynamic duo took the time to answer our burning questions at the 2018 TV WEEK Logie Awards, where the hit show took out a Silver Logie for Most Popular Reality Program, for the sixth year in a row.
The new series has already wrapped filming and it won’t be long until it all kicks off!
Scott Cam was quick to reveal the St.Kilda locals love the work the Blockheads have done on Gatwick Hotel.
“It’s a beautiful iconic building right in the heart of St Kilda,” Cam explains.
“Right on the main Boulevard of St Kilda, which is their main street. “
“A lot of people around the area have really loved what we’ve done with the building. It was pretty infamous, and some people might know it,” he continues.
“Instead of it getting knocked down, and 25 townhouses or something going on the land, we’ve kept the outside of the building and we’ve kept the structure. It looks like the Gatwick, and there are six apartments in there now. “
“The people of St Kilda love it, and it really does look spectacular.”
And are they hoping this season will win them another Sliver Logie?
“Let’s just get this one to air and the auctions over an done with first,” Craft laughs.
“Still, after this many years and 14 seasons in, the auctions are still the most never wracking day of my year. No question about it,” she concludes.
The 14th season of The Block season due to air soon on the Nine Network.
