The nation eagerly followed Nick “Honey Badger” Cummins on his journey to find lasting love on The Bachelor last year and in a shock ending that nobody saw coming, Sophie Tieman, and Brittany Hockley were both dumped at the final rose ceremony in New Caledonia.
“It wouldn’t be fair to enter into something that a few months down the track I’d be breaking her heart,” Nick said at the time, explaining his decision to choose neither girl.

But before the scandalous ending, fan favourite Brooke Blurton left the mansion on her own accord and at the time, no one really knew why.
Later, when she entered Fiji on Bachelor in Paradise, she wasted no time in telling the other girls exactly what happened.
“My decision for leaving wasn’t exactly how it came about,” Brooked revealed.
“I feel like there’s something I probably should tell you girls. I thought there was definitely chemistry there and we developed something really good and yeah, I thought I’d be that girl at the end.
“Then he stopped the cameras and smothered his mic, to tell me that he wasn’t going to pick anyone in the end.”
Ummm … what the actual … ?!

And now in an interview on the Shameless podcast, the 24-year-old youth worker has shed more light on the story.
“We were on the motorbike and he stopped the Go Pros,” Brooke recalled.
“I was having to hold my mic against him so the sound wouldn’t go through and he held his and he’s driving.
“But he’s mimicking ‘three, zero, me, zero’ and doing these finger movements with his hands.
“At the time I was like, ‘What is this guy trying to say?!’ And, practically, he was saying at the end of this… and he was saying it vocally as well, but it was so hard with the motorbike. But he was saying, at the end of this he’s not going to pick anyone.”

According to Brooke, it “didn’t stop there”, as she revealed that Nick inundated her with messages after filming ended.
“The confusion from him kept coming,” she revealed. “As soon as he probably landed in Australia and got his phone back, he messaged me being like ‘The show didn’t end the way it would’ve ended’.”
“We were messaging, but we weren’t even messaging like text messaging,” she continued.
“It was all Instagram photos, so there was no proof that he had said anything because it was through photos.”
As we all know, Instagram photos delete themselves after viewing – so BOMB-SHELL!
During the candid chat, Brooke also revealed that there was nothing real about Nick or his time on the show.
In fact, she revealed that while the cameras showed him looking “sweet and lovely”, there was another side we didn’t see.
“There were moments where I was like, ‘You are such an actor’. He just puts it on hard,” she revealed, before adding that the whole experience was confusing.
“Up until their last date”, Brooke was convinced that she was the one, until that fateful motorcycle ride.
In April this year, Brooke’s fellow contestant Brittany Hockley spoke with Now to Love in an exclusive interview about the situation and claimed that Brooke’s story may not be entirely accurate.
“Look, I’m sure that what Brooke is saying, she honestly believes,” Britt revealed.
“I wasn’t there at that time but I was told something different.”
Hmmm … we’re listening!
“It’s in the past,” she added. “There’s no point in bringing it up. I would personally never go into it but Soph and I were told something very different.”
So did the Honey Badger lead them on or was it the producers of the show? And what on earth were they told that was so different to Brooke’s version?
We may never know.
