Power couple Sam Gash and Mark Wales were both eliminated from Australian Survivor this week.
The pair, who are now officially dating, were blindsided by fellow Samatau teammates Henry and Jacqui.
Mark, 37, reveals that Sam’s shock elimination on Sunday night left him reeling.
“It was bad. I was hurt,” he tells TV WEEK.
“I was disappointed that they had targeted a player that wasn’t that much of a player really, and she was a good asset in all of the challenges.”
He also knew that he was now a target.
“I knew I was in trouble. I was on my own. I was scrambling,” he says.
Despite being voted off thanks to Henry’s scheming, Mark admires his bold play.
“You’ve got to hand it to him, he’s done well,” Mark admits. “He’s knocked out two players he wanted out.”
But the former special ops soldier thinks the tribe will now turn on Henry and Jacqui.
“I think he’s been quite short-sighted,” Mark explains.
“He took out an immediate threat and didn’t have a longer game plan so I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s now got the entire tribe looking at him and Jacqui and saying, we need to break those guys up now.”
If Henry does get voted off, Mark believes that AK and Luke could take out the competition.
“It’s a toss-up between AK and Luke for me,” he says of choosing a winner.
“AK is a mastermind. He knows that game back to front, he’s really good.”
