Studio 10’s Erin Jayne Plummer “suddenly” passed away over the weekend at just 42-years-old.
The presenter, who was known for hosting advertorials and the shopping channel TVSN was honoured by her Studio 10 co-stars Sarah Harris and Angela Bishop on Monday’s episode after they broke the awful news.
The pair described their former colleague, who is survived by her husband and three daughters, as a “gorgeous human inside and out” and a “gold-medal mum”.
“Over the weekend, Studio 10 lost a bit of its sparkle when our advertorial host, Erin Jayne, passing away suddenly,” shared Sarah.
She continued: “For two decades, Erin Jayne has been a friendly and familiar face on Australian telly, and for a lot of that, she’s been brightening up our mornings with her bubbly personality and megawatt smile.”
Angela revealed that Erin was “plucked from a Sydney beach to star in an international tourism campaign” at the start of her career.
“Then Aerobics Oz Style watched by 40 million people around the world. As Erin told us in 2016 when we had a special aerobics All-Star reunion,” said the showbiz reporter.
“Erin was just a gorgeous human inside and out, and if it wasn’t for TV, perhaps Erin Jayne may have had a sporting career,” Sarah also remarked of Erin, who was an accomplished synchronised swimmer and surf lifesaver.
In her lifetime, Erin represented Australia at three world championships.
By the time she completed her career, she had won 11 national titles.
Aside from her work with Studio Ten, she did voice-overs for television.
To conclude their tribute, Sarah said, “We’ll miss your sunshine around the studio, Erin Jayne, and all of us here are sending lots of love and strength to her family. You’ll be very missed.”
Details about her cause of death have yet to come to light.
