Aussie pop star Samantha Jade’s mum Jacqui Gibbs has lost her short battle with cancer.
The 27-year-old singer and actress confirmed the sad news of her mum’s death via a statement on Tuesday morning, just four months after being diagnosed.
“Our beautiful mother Jacqueline Deans Gibbs passed away peacefully with family by her side,” she wrote.
‘She fought til the very end with the strength and grace by which she lived her life and will be deeply missed.
‘We appreciate your kind words, prayers, and respect for our family during this very difficult time.’
Jacqui was diagnosed in February at the same time her daughter made her acting debut playing Kylie Minogue on the Channel Seven mini-series INXS: Never Tear Us Apart.
Samantha immediately rushed from Sydney back to her home in Perth to be with her family once she heard of the news and has jetted back a forth ever since.
Jade recently said that spending more time with her family and her music writing had helped her to deal with her mother’s shock diagnoses.
“I’m writing from a different place. I have been focusing on making sure I’ve been working hard because my mum would not want it any other way,” she said recently.
“She says to me ‘Don’t stop doing your music’.”
