X Factor 2012 winner and superstar singer Samantha Jade has revealed her future plans for children, four months on from her wedding to long-time boyfriend Pat Handlin.

At an event in Sydney this week, Samantha wowed crows with a soulful rendition of I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor and then her Aria award winning single Firestarter, complete with back up dancers and a whole lot of attitude.

But alongside her surprise performance, it was the hint at upcoming changes within her own life that drew the most attention, Samantha telling the Daily Mail that when she did eventually have children, she would ”100 per cent” take them to future pride parades.

Samantha was a vision when she stepped out in Sydney for a Hayu event earlier this week.

And given the event was the world premiere of Hayu original series Loud & Proud of which Samantha is also starring in, her admission makes perfect sense.

”They’ll be at all my shows too,” she adds.

”All my best friends are gay, so they’ll know a lot.

”There’s been so many things I’ve gone through and they’re just there, my best friends are gay.”

Despite this, the now 35 year old was hesitant to describe herself as a ”gay icon.”

”The community gives so much to me,” she continued before adding that it was an ”absolute honour” to have such a label bestowed upon her.

She wowwed crowds with a rendition of I Will Survive and her hit single Firestarter.

The wedding bells finally rung for Samantha in October 2022, with the singer trying the knot in an extremely intimate ceremony with former Sony Executive Pat Handlin in Venice, Italy.

Speaking with the Kyle and Jackie O Show, the now Mrs Handlin revealed that she made the decision to get married in Venice as a tribute to her late mother.

“Venice is a really special place to us, it’s where we had our first holiday together and it was a place that my mum always wanted to go before, she passed away.”

“The ceremony was really beautiful in this small quadrangle that was quiet by the water,” she continued.

“It was short and sweet and nothing crazy which is exactly how we wanted it to be.”

Samantha and husband Pat are best friends with Guy Sebastian and his wife Jules.

In what may come as a surprise to many, the pair exchanged their vows in front of just a celebrant and good friends Guy Sebastian and his wife Jules, who bore witness.

Whilst some may think Samantha’s relationship with the Battle Scars singer and former Australian Idol winner stemmed from his mentorship whilst Samantha was on the X Factor, their relationship goes back much further than her reality TV days, first meeting when she was 16 working in Sweden.

“I knew him through the industry and then I remember I met Jules and we just completely glued. She’s wonderful, they’re just great people”.

“I feel very blessed with them, it’s like we’ve known each other since we were kids”.
