In a moment no one was expecting, Gold Logie nominee Sam McMillan, aka Sam Mac, just made a dazzling entrance to Australia’s night of nights by doing two very unexpected, albeit glorious, things.
His grand arrival in itself was jaw-dropping enough! Walking up to the red carpet was so last year, so instead, he chose to be carried in.
Yep, the Sunrise host turned many heads as he arrived on a large platform being carried by a team of body guards – now that’s a grand entrance.
Can you spot it? There’s a very fluffy addition to Sam Mac’s entourage!

And it didn’t end there.
On closer inspection, it appeared the talented host had brought quite the entourage with him – his mum, Loretta McMillan… and a cat!

(Getty)While on the red carpet, TV WEEK caught up with the excitable nominee, who revealed the gorgeous bonding moment he and his mum shared before the awards.
Sharing that he only just told his mum that she was to be his plus one only days ago, Loretta went into a major frenzy.
“She had nine hours in Rundle Mall in Adelaide doing dress shopping,” Sam revealed.
“It was fun, but we persevered and persevered for hours,” his Mum said of the long hunt for the perfect frock.”
And the gorgeous duo, who are clearly super close, shared a sweet moment on the red carpet and completely gushed about each other!
“I love Sam because he’s kind and considerate and he loves everybody and he’s very nice and he’s very down-to-earth and he loves all the people who support him,” Sam’s mum said.
And Sam’s response was just as adorable!
“The best thing about my mum is that she is accidentally funny. She will do and say things that just amuse me and I love that about her,” Sam said.
We just adore this duo!
