Since first inheriting a newspaper at age 22, Rupert Murdoch has owned and made news headlines but the one thing the billionaire media typhoon cannot secure is love.
Two weeks after he proposed to former model, singer-songwriter and radio talk-show host Ann Lesley Smith, the couple have called off their engagement.
A source close to the couple shared with Mail Online that following the couples’ engagement, Smith had been struggling with the pressure of being in the public eye and that ultimately, the decision mutual.
Rupert has found love again!

With Murdoch now officially back on the market, let’s take a look back at his previous marriages.
Patricia Booker
Since his first marriage to Patricia in 1956, Rupert has rarely been a single man. At the time, he was just 25-years-old when Rupert married the Australian flight attendant and model.
During their 11 years of marriage – which ended in 1967 – the pair had a daughter called Prudence who is now 65 years old and has followed in her father’s media footsteps after holding several directorial roles in her father’s news corporation.
Prudence – Rupert’s eldest child – is now 65 years old.

His second marriage from 1967 to 1999 to journalist and novelist, Anna was the longest to date for Rupert. During this time, the couple had three children Elisabeth, Lachlan and James Murdoch.
But two years after the divorce, Anna spoke to Australian Women’s Weekly and aired their dirty laundry.
“He behaved badly,” she said. “However, for my children’s sake, I have said nothing… I’ve waited all this time for him to make it right again, but he never took the opportunity.”
Anna and Rupert were wed for more than 30 years.

Chinese-born entrepreneur and movie producer, Wendi met Rupert while interning at a television station owned by News Corp and wed two years later in 1999.
The pair were wed for 14 years and had two daughters, Grace and Chloe before their sudden divorce in mid-2013.
The divorce papers were allegedly filed a week after Rupert came to believe his wife at-the-time had been romantically involved with another man.
Wendi had two girls with Rupert.

The gap between Rupert’s third and fourth wife is certainly the longest! In January 2016, Rupert wed American model and actress Jerry Hall. The pair were only dating for four months before their engagement.
The divorce in 2022 came as a shock to Jerry who was left “heartbroken” and “devastated” afterwards.
What is worse, Jerry was allegedly waiting for her husband at-the-time to join her in the United Kingdom when reports claim he sent an email saying their marriage was over.
The pair don’t have any children together, but Jerry has four children with Mick Jagger.

We have arrived at what was set to be Rupert’s hopefull “last” marriage!
Ann and Rupert met in 2022, and were previously spotted soaking up the sun in Barbados less than six months after his divorce from Jerry.
