Robert Irwin releases a photography book to honour his late father Steve

Robert Irwin has announced the launch of his very first photography book, saying the passion project will continue his late father Steve’s “important legacy”.

The conservationist, who has long been a passionate photographer, said his new book, titled Australia, is the “embodiment of countless years of dedication to the art form of imagery”.

Announcing the exciting news on social media, the 18-year-old dedicated the nature photography book to Steve.

“This is the embodiment of countless years of dedication to the art form of imagery as well as my profound passion to continue my father’s important legacy, while forging my own path,” Robert shared.

“Australian-made and sustainably crafted, this is my first photography book.”

Robert said all profits from the $189 book, which was “years in the making”, will go directly toward wildlife conservation.

Alongside the announcement, Robert shared a video of himself flipping through the book, which includes stunning photos of Australia’s most iconic destinations including Uluru.

“This book is a showcase of one of our world’s last frontiers, exhibiting powerful imagery from the most rugged, beautiful, surprising and awe-inspiring continent on Earth,” Robert wrote on his website.

Robert said his debut photography book pays homage to his Australian upbringing and encapsulates his journey behind the lens.
