“Everything’s better with Rorie,” a smitten Robert Irwin confessed last week of his girlfriend Rorie Buckey. “Life is great.”
Now sources say the star has decided he wants to plan an engagement to ensure he spends the rest of his life with the 19-year-old physiotherapy student.
“I love doing life with you,” Rorie (with Robert and her twin sister Scarlett) posted earlier this month. “I love you Rorie,” Robert responded.
(Credit: Instagram)The couple – who were first seen on a date in November 2022 – looked seriously smitten as they attended the annual Steve Irwin Gala dinner in Brisbane on November 11 with the rest of his clan.
“When’s the wedding?” asked one fan in response to the evening’s glam snaps.
Indeed, sources say that after the event, Robert told mum Terri he’s planning to make Rorie an official part of the family.
According to an insider, the teen has adjusted well to public life and is so comfortable with Robert and his family that it’s now just a matter of when, not if, he proposes.
“Bindi likes to warn people they’ll get a cavity being around Robert and Rorie at the moment. They’re so loved-up it’s incredibly sweet, but this isn’t just a teenage romance either.”
“Robert and Rorie are very serious about their relationship and are planning a future together,” a source tells Woman’s Day.
“They’ve talked about where to live and even how big they want their family to be.”
“Terri’s not surprised this romance is getting serious quickly,” says a source.

“Everyone’s convinced he’s aiming to pop the question when they’re in Africa,” says a source of the 19-year-old, who’s now taking time to choose the perfect engagement ring.
“Robert’s crazy about her and is planning something unforgettable when he formally proposes.”
“They both know it’s part of their plans, so he’s been dreaming up special ways to make it a surprise.”
While some critics may declare the pair too young, the insider says the TV host’s convinced she is the right choice for him.
“Robert’s exactly like his mum and sister – he knows when he’s met The One,” says the source.
“He didn’t expect it to happen so soon, but Terri knew he’d marry the first girl he fell in love with.”
“She and Steve tied the knot after just eight months and Bindi wasn’t much older than Robert when she got married.”
Bindi’s already given her future sister-in-law her seal of approval.
“Rorie!! You are stunning. So beautiful inside and out. It was wonderful to celebrate such a special night together,” she gushed on social media.
“The moment Rorie walked in the door, it felt like a missing piece of the family had come home.”
“Everyone adores her and loves how happy and ridiculous she’s making Robert, who’s always fancied himself a kind of ‘tough guy’ of the clan,” says the Irwin insider.
“Not so much when Rorie’s around. She clearly worships him and can’t get enough of the Irwin family’s wild lifestyle.”
Robert appeared on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa and when asked how serious the relationship was out of 10, he responded, “Love is not a numbers game. You just feel it.”
He isn’t denying the engagement rumours and has certainly fallen in love, we hear wedding bells!
