Australian reality stars have a tendency to work the circuit after they’re bitten by the TV bug. From Sam Frost to Anthony Callea, a little time on the small screen is all they need to keep on coming back.
With this year’s I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! line-up about to drop, are we set to see more reality show alum? Well according to sources, Ricki-Lee Coulter could be doing just that.
It’s been 13 years since the New Zealand-born (who knew?) pop singer graced our screens on the second season of Australian Idol, but she’s apparently a strong contender for the trip to the South African bush.
Channel 10 has been releasing teasers and clues about who is set to enter the jungle including a “pop sensation”.
There’ll also be a renowned Australian comedian, an AFL champion, an Aussie rocker, a world champion, an Australian actor and “two icons in the middle of Australia’s biggest feud”, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Coulter certainly wouldn’t be the first Australian Idol alum to join the show, with Anthony Callea entering the fray and Casey Donovan winning last year’s series.
The singer has dipped her toe in the reality show scene since Idol, appearing in the no doubt forgotten show Celebrity Circus as well as celebrity singing show, It Takes Two and Dancing with the Stars. She’s also been a mentor on The Voice and hosted Idol for two seasons.
The singer hasn’t given anything away on social media but has recently released music. Could a reality show appearance be what she needs to sell more tickets to a tour?
