Model Rachael Finch has always wanted a big family.
But with two little ones already – Violet, four, and seven-month-old Dominic – and a busy work schedule, the 29-year-old admits it isn’t always easy finding enough time to spend with her family.
“With all the technology today – schedules, meetings and so on – it can be difficult,” Rachael says of being a working mum.
“But I always make sure I find time to stop and apply the simple things in life. That’s what has helped me get the most out of life and really enjoy time with my kids. I’m passionate about being present all the time, because life is going by so fast.”
The Cannonball co-host says the trick to keeping it all together is finding the right balance.
“I listen to my body,” she explains. “Every morning and night, I tune out for 20 minutes… I practise mindfulness and meditation, so I can really enjoy the most of my time.”
Rachael admits she and husband Michael Miziner are in no hurry to expand their brood.
“I love a big family,” she says.
“I love the fullness and energy in the house. It’s incredibly beautiful, but ultimately we’re super-happy to have one of each – a boy and a girl. We feel really content.”
As for her latest role on Cannonball, Rachael had a whale of a time.
“Having grown up on the water, this was by far the best show I’ve ever worked on,” she enthuses.
