There’s no doubt about it – Patti Newton just loves being a grandma!
The 71-year-old enjoyed a family day out with her daughter Lauren Newton and her adorable grandson Monty recently.
The stylish mother-daughter duo happily chatted as they perused the shops.
And while he’s only nine months old Monty’s already playing up to the cameras!
Fans have been quick to point out Monty’s likeness to his grandfather, showbiz legend Bert Newton. Even Patti affectionately calls them “her two moonfaces.”
Speaking to the Herald Sun earlier in the year, Bert says his four grandchildren Sam, eight, Eva, seven, Lola, four, and of course little Monty bring him and Patti immeasurable joy.
“They wouldn’t realise it at the moment, but they have made this one of the happiest times of my life,” the 78-year-old told the publication.
“There is that old saying, the wonderful thing about being a grandfather, or grandparent, is that you give the kids back. But in the case of Patti and myself, we don’t want to.”
Meanwhile Patti and Bert recently celebrated their own special milestone! Earlier in the month, the happy couple rung in 42-years of marriage.
“42 years ago today Bert and I married. The journey has been wonderful we are so lucky x,” Proud Patti penned alongside a flashback pic of her and Bert on their wedding day.
Last year, Patti told Woman’s Day the secret to their lasting love was all about balance.
“I think we have a great relationship because we’re not always in each other’s pocket,” she explained to us.
