Awkward…
Paris Hilton, who is currently in Australia for the promotion of her 20th perfume, caused quite a stir when she appeared on The Project on Thursday evening.
When Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald questioned the socialite about her relationship status, Paris was quick to admit that she was indeed “single, very single”.
Fitzy then asked the celebrity DJ about an old flame, Australian Idol star Rob Mills, with whom she had a brief fling with in 2003.
“Are you still keeping contact with Millsy – Robert Mills?” he asked while host Carrie Bickmore tried to cut to a break.
“Who?” she quipped back before admitting that she had no such memory of him.

If the 35-year-old’s snub wasn’t uncomfortable enough, it turns out that Millsy was, in fact, being represented in the audience…
Taking to Twitter after the show, co-host Peter Helliar shared a candid, behind-the-scenes snap in which paris poses with a couple who got engaged on the live show.
In the background, Millsy’s mum does her best to avoid being snapped.
“So @ParisHilton visited us @theprojecttv tonight!! She was lovely,” Peter began the hilarious tale.
“We got a selfie and then she took a selfie with our newly engaged couple in the audience. But the INTERESTING thing about this audience pick is the woman sitting behind them trying to avoid being in shot is none other than the MUM of MILLSY!!
“We only found out after this pic was taken and after Paris had left. Totally coincidental,” he finished.
The Neighbours actor first met Paris at an event at the Sydney Opera House before spending the night in her hotel room.
Last year, he revealed on the podcast Deeply Shallow: “We did pretty much everything but (sex) and then we caught up at the [Melbourne Cup] races a week after.”
The pair allegedly kept in contact, and reunited again in 2004 on the evening that her infamous sex tape leaked. According to Millsy, he and Paris watched it for the first time together.
If Robert does indeed have any intention to meet up with the blonde beauty, it would seem that he might have to get in line behind none other than Australia’s “no. 1 party boy”, Shane Warne.
After hearing of Paris’ arrival in Melbourne, the former cricketer admitted that he would “like to meet her”.
“We’ve got mutual friends but we’ve never had the chance to meet. It’s exciting she’s in town.”
