BREAKING: Nicole Kidman’s mother reportedly rushed to hospital after suffering suspected heart attack

Nicole Kidman’s mother Janelle, 76, was rushed to Sydney’s Royal North Shore hospital after suffering a suspected heart attack, Woman’s Day can exclusively reveal.

“She had a heart scare and was admitted to Royal North Shore Private on Thursday,’’ confirmed the source, a close family friend of the Kidmans.

She remained in ICU on Friday. Nicole’s sister Antonia, who is based in Singapore where she lives with her six children and husband Craig Marran, is currently caring for her mother in Sydney.

“Antonia was here on a pre-arranged holiday. She visits all the time, she just jumps on a plane,” the source was quick to add.

Nicole, who is now en route to Paris to promote Lion is believed to have been convinced by her mother that she need not change her plans, however the source said “she would have been here in a flash” had it been life-threatening.

“Whatever Antonia and Nicole can do to support their mum they do. It’s been a bit of a rough old year for Janelle.”

A second source close to Mrs Kidman confirmed the heart scare.

“She’s not in a good way at all,”the source said. “She’s very unwell. It’s an enormous shock.”

Nicole, 49, is thought to have been in Louisiana filming her new movie Beguiled when she received the terrifying call about her mother’s condition.

Nicole vowed to look after her mother after her father’s untimely passing.

It comes two years after the Kidman family was rocked by the death of Nicole’s father, and Janelle’s husband, Antony Kidman, 75, who died as the resulted of a suspected heartache after collapsing in a Singapore hotel after a workout session.

Nicole has spoken openly about her grief following her father’s death, describing 2014 as “the toughest year” her family has ever been through. After her father’s sudden death, Nicole vowed to look after her mother saying, “It’s okay Papa, we’re here to take care of her”.

Nicole was last seen in Sydney around Easter time during the filming of Top Of The Lake, when she spent time with her mother and her daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.

The Oscar winner has always shared a very close relationship with her family and was even reportedly keen for her mother to live with her following her father’s death.

The past few years have been marred with tragedy for the Kidman’s with Antonia’s first husband Angus Hawley also tragically passed away in 2015. Angus was aged just 46 when he died of a suspected heart attack after he collapsed in New York, where he had been attending a business conference.
