Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban have returned to their roots for a Christmas Down Under.
But this particular Christmas back home is of an extreme importance to the 55-year-old actress, as she wants to spend quality time with her aging mother Janelle.

Janelle has always been supportive of Nicole and her career.

โEspecially now that both their dads have passed away. Nicole has yearned to be closer to her mum ever since her dad passed, and Janelle is very much starting to slow down.โ
Keith, meanwhile, recently moved his own mum Marienne โ who was widowed when the singerโs father Robert died in 2015 after a long battle with cancer โ into a cosy home on the Queensland Sunshine Coast.

And now, as the couple and their two children have just touched down on Australian soil, the importance of Christmas back home has come for one particular reason: Nicoleโs mother.
In January, Nicole confirmed her 81-year-old mumโs health was waning, explaining she was in Sydney at the time to โtake careโ of her and โsurround herโ with grandchildren.
Now, Keith has shed further light on Janelleโs health, appearing to suggest this could be their last Christmas with her.
โMy mum just turned 80 and Nicโs mum โ who knows how many Christmases we get with anybody ever but particularly with our mums โ I really cherish that chance to spend Chrissy with them and our family in Oz,โ he revealed.

Nicole and her mother share a close relationship.

Nicole and Keith will be enjoying quality time with mother Janelle, Nicoleโs sister Antonia and her six kids, and Keithโs mum Marienne.
โThey feel blessed to have a chance to be all together again,โ shares an insider. โItโs been too long since they were all together.โ
