On Tuesday night Nicole Kidman locked lips with her long-time pal, Naomi Watts, as the duo donned shower caps on stage at an awards night.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Kidman was accepting the Excellence in Film prize at the Women in Film Crystal and Lucy Awards in Los Angeles, when she shocked the crowd by kissing her good friend on stage.
Watts presented the award to Kidman who ended her speech by calling her close friend back onto the stage before laying a wet one on her.
And if you’re wondering why, it’s all because Kidman turned down a role at 14-years-old from future Oscar winner Jane Campion.
“My excuse was that I had final exams to study for, but the truth is the part would have required me to appear up on the screen wearing a shower cap and kissing a girl … I wanted to be the kind of actress with long flowing hair [who] kissed boys … I was not ready to do the kind of work that threatened anybody,” said Nicole.
“Well, today I know better and I say, ‘Jane, if you’re out there … I’m ready to don this cap.'”
The pair have been close friends since attending high school together in Sydney.
And on Tuesday, the pair got a little closer as Nicole kissed her good friend on stage.
Watts appeared bemused after the incident, laughing with Kidman by her side.
Here, the pair attended another awards night in 2002.
The close friends attend The Ring Premiere in late 2002.
The duo stun on the red carpet at the Guild Awards in 2013.
Earlier this year, the pals enjoyed another awards night together at the G’Day USA awards.
At the Academy Awards in 2007, the pair walked the red carpet together, looking like quite the vision.
