The adoring father took to his Facebook page to pen a devastating message to fans about his oldest son.
“We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US. We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children,” he wrote.
“Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well.”
“At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.”
The 41-year-old, who also has a ten-month-old son called Elias, did not reveal what kind of cancer Noah has.
Earlier in the year, the Home hitmaker spoke about the joys of fatherhood, telling E! News that being a dad to his two boys “defines” him.
“I think being a dad gives you perspective. I think really being a parent is a massive blessing,” he explained.
“It’s allowed me to understand deeply that what I do for a living – creating music and art and getting to be a part of a fragrance or a movie – is my job. It isn’t what defines me. What defines me is I’m Noah and Eli’s dad.”
“I just want to be with them. I leave a lot, so when I can be there with them, that’s my true happiness,” the star said.
“When I’m nervous and I’m insecure and I’m scared of challenging myself or leaving my comfort zone, [fatherhood] just gives me context and allows me to understand what’s important.”
The Canadian jazz musician married Argentine actress and model Luisana, 29, in 2011.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time.
