Finding true love on a reality show isn’t easy. But The Bachelor Australia’s Matty Johnson and Laura Byrne are proving to be the real deal.
The former reality star reveals he and the 31-year-old jewellery designer are about to take a huge step in their relationship.
“We have talked about future plans and moving in together,” Matty, 30, smiles. “Hopefully that will happen soon.”
The former Bachelor is loving his stint as a travel reporter on The Living Room.
While fans are itching to see the lovebirds tie the knot, Matty won’t be popping the question just yet.
“We’re both at a point in our lives where we’re ready to take that next step,” the marketing director says. “But we also don’t want to rush it.”
Matty adds his mum is eagerly awaiting the moment.
“She’s already claiming Laura as her daughter-in-law,” he laughs.
For now, Matty is taking a leap of his own by joining The Living Room. He’s filling in for Dr Chris Brown while he’s hosting I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!.
“It’s big shoes to fill,” he points out. “It’s like getting called up to play first-grade.”
But the opportunity has made Matty eager to do more TV work.
“I would love it,” he grins.
