Not only is Margot Robbie home for the holidays – she’s also home to say “I do!”
In news that will delight fans of the Aussie actress, Woman’s Day can exclusively reveal Margot has returned Down Under to marry her long-term boyfriend Tom Ackerley.
On Tuesday afternoon, Margot finally gave fans a glimpse of her stunning ring in an un-captioned Instagram shot.
Letting the sparkler do all the talking as she kisses her husband, the newlyweds look happier than ever.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Margot and Tom said “I do” in the stunning hinterlands of Ewingsdale, Byron Bay on Monday, December 19.
It’s believed Margot’s mother Sarie and her two brothers, Lachlan and Cameron, gave her away and her sister Anya was the maid of honour, while the couple wrote their own romantic vows.
Although the star hasn’t confirmed the location of her nuptials, Tom’s brother took to social media to share a photo from the popular wedding hotspot Harvest in Newrybar.
Meanwhile another pal of Margot’s shared a snap of a stunning beach-side setting.
Friends say it’s a dream come true for the Queensland-born star, who is head-over-heels in love with her British beau and is delighted to share her big day with her nearest and dearest.
Meanwhile Margot’s brother Cameron has been pictured enjoying what looks to be some pre-wedding drinks with an image of her sibling surfacing on social media captioned “the calm before the storm”.
“Tom initially wanted to get married in the UK, but he knows how much it means to Margot to tie the knot on home soil and how special it is for her, so he didn’t put up much of a fight.
“They decided to marry around Christmas so they could spend time with both their families afterwards, which they’ve never done before,” our insider says, adding that guests, who flew to Oz in mid-December, were all sworn to secrecy to keep the big day private.
Earlier in the year, the star admitted her heart lies with Australia and she plans to raise her children here.
“They’ll be here. The kids will be in Australia,” she explained during a chat on The Project.
Adding that her partner feels the same. “‘He loves Australia. He’s like, ‘I don’t know why anyone leaves Australia!'”
As for how her family get on with British-born Tom, Margot says they adore him and aren’t afraid to share some friendly banter with him.
“The family give him hell for being a pommie! When he comes for Christmas everybody’s like, ‘Oh, the pommie!'”
Congratulations to Margot and Tom!
