But now, the happy couple are finally back together in Sydney.

Taking to Instagram on Friday morning to share the happy news, the Dancing With The Stars All Stars winner posted a loved-up selfie with his soon to-be wife at Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach alongside the caption: “She’s finally here!!! After 499 days apart! I am reunited with the love of my life!!”

Luke signed off his announcement with the hashtags “#love #patience #worththewait #covidsucks #beachpicnic #champagne #cheese.”

Clearly in a reflective mood, Luke also posted a throwback snap of him and Raychel doing the Harbour Bridge climb when she was first in Sydney, revealing they were planning to climb the bridge again to celebrate their reunion.

“The very first day Raychel came to Australia, we did the @bridgeclimb at night! So we are doing it again today!! The sun is out and we can’t wait!!! #bridgeclimb #sydney #harbourbridge #epic #corememories #adventure,” he revealed.

The 40-year-old actor, who proposed to US-based Raychel in 2018 after meeting in LA, has had to endure a long-distance relationship due to COVID-19.

And while the rigorous visa application process has certainly been a strain for them, he recently told Woman’s Day plans for their wedding were back in the pipeline after her visa was approved to come to Australia.

“It only took five years for us to prove that we’re actually in a legitimate relationship,” he explained in April.

“But she’s finally coming, she’ll be here in June!”

The couple were forced to delay their wedding in November last year and are yet to set an official new date but they’re keen to tie the knot soon.
