Whilst Liz Hurley, Shane’s former fiancée, was absent at the event, the British starlet was watching from afar and has broken her silence to support her ex’s children.

On Thursday, Shane’s eldest child Brooke shared a photo taken at his MCG locker and thanked everyone for their support.

“The most extraordinary night sending off our extraordinary Dad @shanewarne23 🤍 thank you to @tunners3205 @mushroomgroup and the @mcg and everyone else involved in making last night happen, it was the most perfect night and we are beyond grateful for everyone’s constant support,” the 24-year-old wrote.

“I am so lucky to have the most amazing brother @jacksonwarne18 , sister @summerwarne & Mum @simonecallahan. Jackson, Summer and I will continue our Dads legacy and he will always live on through us. Gone but never, ever, EVER forgotten ⭐️ We couldn’t be prouder to be his children 🤍 love you Dad 🙏 SW23 FOREVER🤍”

It was beneath Brooke’s post that Liz shared a sweet message, praising her for the heartfelt words she shared at the memorial.

“Your speech was magical. I love you and see you soon. SW23 FOREVER ❤️,” she penned.

Liz hinted that she will be seeing Brooke soon.

Brooke and her younger siblings Jackson, 22, and Summer, 20, all shared their own individual speeches at the memorial.

“I have to come to the fact that my Dad will never get to see me grow up or Jackson or Summer or see us get married one day, have kids and get the promotion I was going for,” she told the crowd.

“I could go on forever about what we’re going to miss out on, but nothing would be more upsetting about how much I already miss you, Dad.

“But what makes me the saddest is, I will never get to wrap my arms around you and give you the biggest hug and rest my chin on your chest. Dad was our shining star in life and now he’s shining down on all of us. We will do you so proud, Dad and we are so proud of everything you have achieved. We’re going to do what you always told us – try our best and we will try our best to live in a world without you. I love you always Dad.”

After missing Shane’s private funeral in Melbourne prior to the memorial, fans expected Liz to be at the MCG in person.

However Eddie Maguire, Shane’s close friend, revealed the reason why she was absent on Wednesday.

“Elizabeth, like another major star and close friend, found it too emotional to encapsulate their feelings into a 30-second grab,” the TV personality told news.com.au the day after the memorial.

“She had sent out wonderful tributes and she and we didn’t want to diminish her grief and love of the Warne family by doing so.”

Eddie added that Liz made a “greater” tribute by supporting the family and the funeral planning privately, and they all “respected her wishes and completely understand her feelings”.
