If you were breathing deep heavy breaths of stress after noticing Lisa Wilkinson was not at the Today news desk yesterday, then you can calm down.
The morning show host revealed she’s accidentally injured herself.
On Wednesday, the 57-year-old posted a picture of herself nursing a bandaged-up arm on Instagram.
Dressed in Rice Bubbles pyjamas and wrapped up with a crocheted blanket around her, Lisa was sporting a very mean cast on her wrist.
“So, I didn’t quite make it in to work today, because this happened …” she wrote, without revealing the cause of the injury.
“Back tomorrow, cast and all. Just need to find an outfit to go with it.”
This morning, the mother-of-three returned to work and revealed the cause of her injury.
Turns out, Lisa has been suffering from carpal tunnel, which is a numbness and tingling in the arm as a result of pinched nerves, for over four years and she had no idea!
The breakfast show’s Instagram account shared this message of encouragement to their star, “What a trooper – @lisa_wilkinson showed up for work this morning cast and all!”
Fans were mighty impressed when they saw the TV host back at work on Thursday, and were quick to wish her a speedy recovery.
One person said, “Interesting to hear this as I have the problem. Had the injection a couple of weeks ago, no pain now. Must wear brace. Have specialist app. Later. Did not realise I would have such a large bandage. Also keeping the hand up ❤️”
While another mused, “So lovely hearing your voice as I switched on this morning! Glad you’re back Lisa!”
