Lisa Curry pens a rare and heartfelt message to ex-husband Grant Kenny

Their relationship may have ended in 2009 but it seems former Olympic swimmer Lisa Curry is still on good terms with her ex-husband, retired ironman Grant Kenny.

Over the weekend, Lisa took to her social media channels to wish the father of her three children a happy birthday in a rare public display of affection, while also revealing her sweet nickname for him.

“GK doesn’t do social media… so I’ll do it for you today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GK. Have a great day,” the 58-year-old penned alongside a touching photo of Grant in grandpa mode cradling his grandson Flynn.

In the post, Lisa also tagged their three adult children they share together, daughters Jaimi Lee and Morgan and son Jet, while Grant shares seven-year-old daughter Trixie Box with television presenter Fifi Box.

Her post was flooded with well wishes and fans applauding the I’m A Celeb star’s approach to family.

“You’re amazing Lisa. Such a happy beautiful human. Your family is so blessed to have your diversity,” one fan wrote.

“That one is a bit special!! Just beautiful and yes Grant still looking pretty good,” another added.

“Happy birthday to an Aussie legend Grant Kenny,” a third said.

After tying the knot in 1986, Lisa and Grant fast became the ultimate Aussie sporting poster couple.

Lisa wed her second husband Mark in 2018.

The pair separated in 2009 and officially divorced in 2017. Lisa has since found love with Elvis impersonator Mark Tabone and the couple tied the knot in May 2018.

Last month, Lisa explained to Now To Love that she and Grant have always strived to be harmonious co-parents.

“Grant and I as parents, we always said we will always be there for all our kids, for everything that they do,” she explained.

“Every success, every failure, every try, everything it didn’t matter. Just being there and being proud is really important as parents.”
