Is everything OK with Lindsay Lohan? The actress caused a fresh wave of confusion when she stepped out in Athens, Greece recently to promote her new club in the city – which is appropriately named Lohan.
In what could quite possibly be one of the strangest interviews we’ve seen, the star appears to take on a very bizarre new speaking manner, which seems to incorporate multiple accents from around the world.
Despite her being born and bred in the United States, a now 30-year-old Lindsay carries traits of Irish, British, and a combination of European accents as she speaks to reporters about a cause lost behind her befuddling new voice.
Since the video made headlines, Lilo has spoken out about her quirky new tongue, explaining she’s picked up a transatlantic accent because she’s learning so many languages.
Listen for yourself in the video player above!
“It’s a mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn,” the bilingual star told the Mail Online.
“I’ve been learning different languages since I was a child. I’m fluent in English and French can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian and Arabic.”
The good-humoured beauty even joked that her new accent should be called Lilohan.
Naturally, the internet erupted with commentary.
“I can’t stop watching. It’s kinda Irish, kinda ambiguous Euro, [with] a dash of Aussie,” tweeted one follower.
“LMAO that’s kind of Russia meets Irish Lindsay Lohan,” shared another.
While she’s certainly not the first to take on a new tongue – both Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow famously adopted British accents upon marrying their British husbands Guy Ritchie and Chris Martin – her recent speak is only the cherry on top of a slew of worrying behaviour.
Earlier this week, the Mean Girls actress took to Instagram with a racy snap of her Halloween costume.
She eschewed the spooky-themed get-up, and instead took the bare minimal approach in hot pink lingerie, with the caption, “#EverydayWeWearPink.”
Lindsay has also been actively promoting her new clubbing endeavours on social media – a pursuit which has professionals expressing concerns of a potential relapse.
“This is very troubling for someone with her medical history the chances of relapse are very high,” Dr. Manny Alvarez told Fox News.
“To be around alcohol and perhaps people that might be indulging in drugs is a formula for disaster.”
It’s been a tumultuous decade for the strawberry blonde beauty, who was arrested and charged with possession and misdemeanour use of cocaine in 2007.
In 2013, she admitted her addiction to alcohol in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, saying that it was a gateway to other things, including cocaine.
Since then, she’s had two DUIs, six arrests, six admissions to rehab, seven car accidents and has spent 14 days in prison.
Most recently she made headlines for her dramatic break-up with Russian boyfriend Egor Tarabasov.
