We thought we’d hit the jackpot with Matt Agnew on the latest season of The Bachelor, but now there’s another eligible Aussie who’s making a very strong case to don the red velvet suit and dish out some roses of his own.

Yep, you guessed it – just days after his separation from wife Miley Cyrus was announced, Aussie-lad turned Hollywood celeb (and certified hottie) Liam Hemsworth is now a front-runner in the Bachie-fan-verse to be the next Bachelor.

…So where exactly do we apply to be a contestant?

Sharing a comedic Photoshopped image on Facebook, Bachelor fan page Bachelor Memes posted a call out to Channel Ten requesting the small favour of making Liam Hemsworth the next official Bachelor.

“Please Channel Ten make this a thing…tag a friend who would apply 👏🏻🌹,” the post read.

As you can probably predict, fans went nuts.

Yes, we will absolutely accept this rose.

One fan wrote: “Oh sh*t!! I’m in”.

While another voiced something many of us could relate to: “I think I’d have a stroke.”

Hilariously, some people tagged their respective partners in the post and admitted that unfortunately, they might be dumped if Liam’s new Bachie gig were to go ahead.

One fan wrote to her partner: “[Partner’s name] it has been good to be with you, but its time for me to follow my heart😂”.

There are plenty of people who’d love to steal Liam’s heart, as it turns out…

But bringing us all back to reality, one person (presumably a Liam super fan) pointed out that the show would be a serious business.

She wrote: “This is serious love and true loves may only apply!! I want an ‘unreal’ fairy tale here people!🌹”.

The fan also added some comedic hashtags for good measure: #liamdeservestruelove, #liamforbachelor2020 and #introducemetochris.

Channel Ten has most definitely not confirmed anything, but we can totally all sit here and dream, right?

And while it seems a little far fetched to assume that Liam Hemsworth might choose to go on any dating reality television show, it wouldn’t be the first time an existing Aussie celeb has taken the reigns as the frontman on The Bachelor.

Indeed last year, former rugby union player Nick Cummins aka the Honey Badger went on the hit show to ‘find love’.

Only, Nick’s not exactly the greatest example to use given he sort of picked no one after many excruciating weeks of going back and forth between some of the season’s stunning contestants.

That being said, we’re pretty sure applications for any show involving winning the heart of Liam Hemsworth would go through the roof.

Liam himself has just opened up about the breakup in a surprise Instagram post earlier on Tuesday, July 13.

The Hunger Games star shared an image of a sunset alongside the caption: “Hi all, Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated”.

Liam then added a message for his wife: “I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward.”

The post continued: “This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets.

“Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.”

Liam issued an unexpected statement via Instagram to quell the wild media reports surrounding his and Miley’s split.

The news of the separation between Miley and Liam was announced via PEOPLE magazine, quoting a rep of the couple who stated: “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time.”

They continued: “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.”

Miley was quick to address the shock news herself (albeit in a cryptic way) by sharing a series of images of herself on a mountain, along with the caption: “Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win.”

“Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable. The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed.

“My dad always told me ‘Nature never hurries but it is always on time’…. it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true.”

Miley has also cryptically spoken out since the shock news.
