Catching her breath as she accepted the Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Limited Series for her role in American Horror Story: Hotel, the 29-year-old star was clearly overwhelmed by her extraordinary achievement.
Likening herself to muso-turned-actress Cher, Gaga said this was “one of the greatest moments” of her life. She went on to thank creator Ryan Murphy and the cast, who she called her “family”.
It seems her transition from being a pop icon to an actress was always on the cards for the Born This Way singer. “I wanted to be an actress before I wanted to be a singer, but music worked out first,” she revealed.
With multiple Grammys already under her belt, this epic win by Gaga is surely the beginning of a spectacular acting career.
Gaga beat out other veteran actresses in her category, including Sarah Hay, Felicity Huffman, Queen Latifah, and Kirsten Dunst.
