Oh how time flies!
It seems like only yesterday we were watching Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan’s on-screen Neighbours characters tie the knot, with their hit single Especially For You being released not long after.
But reality is here to give us a right old kick in the behind – the song celebrated its 30th anniversary this week.
Yep, you read that right – 3-0. Where did the time go!?

Kylie was clearly feeling nostalgic this week – she posted an image to Instagram of her and former real-life flame Donovan from their Neighbours days and a video of the two performing together earlier this year.
Alongside the Instagram post she wrote: “#EspeciallyForYou is 30!!!??? I’ve been singing this on the #GoldenTour and it’s such a fun, memory filled singalong for everyone on and off stage.”
The singer continued: When [Jason Donovan] surprised everyone and joined me onstage at @bbcradio2 Hyde Park a couple of months ago, it was pure magic. Happy Birthday to the song that still means to much to many.”
Indeed, earlier this year, the pair’s reunion at the BBC event sent the crowd wild.

The performance was a real treat for the audience, with Kylie teasing them by singing the first verse of the chorus on her own.
After the second chorus, the Aussie singer-songstress heaved a heavy sigh and said “I need a dance partner.”
Like clockwork, Donovan then appeared on stage, lifting Kylie up and spinning her around before finishing the song with her.
The pair also played up their iconic moments from the 80s, with a re-enactment of Donovan standing with his arms around Kylie’s waist and swaying back and forth – the perfect tribute to their 1988 Top of the Pops performance.

And while the two are clearly on good terms now – the 50-year-old former flames haven’t shied away from speaking candidly about their relationship.
In 2012, Donovan discussed Kylie on his TV show Life Stories, saying they “cemented” their relationship in a Sydney Travelodge.
He said Kylie was his first love and there was “a lot of chemistry” between them, but he knew the relationship would eventually come to an end as Kylie’s career gained momentum.
“I could see her slipping away. We argued a lot about her wanting to go off and do other things,” he said.
Kylie seems to have well and truly moved on, with the blonde Aussie sharing some sweet snaps of her and current beau Paul Solomons.
Stepping out at the Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards earlier this year, the singer posted an image of herself and Paul along with a love heart emoji.
It was a rare move for Kylie, who has been keeping the Welshman Solomons under wraps since they first met through mutual friends in February of this year.
But the intimate moment of the pair holding hands at top London hotel Claridge’s where the awards took place revealed that the singer was happy to go public with her man.
