According to British newspaper the Mirror Kylie has spent all summer recording a disco-influenced Christmas album and it seems little sister Dannii has loaned her voice to a track or two.
The reports say that the famous siblings got to together for a secret recording session while Dannii was in the UK headlining Manchester Pride.
The Mirror reported that the pair laid down a few different tracks including Wham’s famous Last Christmas but Kylie is yet to decide which of the songs they recorded will make it on the album.
Die-hard fans have been waiting since 2008 for the sisters to collaborate again, when they performed ABBA’s hit The Winner Takes It All on the British show Beautiful People.
“Minogue fans have long wanted a duet between the two sisters, but Kylie never felt it was the right time,” says an insider. “Also, her management tried to avoid it because they considered the pair were in different leagues.”
The source adds, “But now Dannii’s profile is buoyed by her X Factor judging duties and Kylie is management-free, she feels it’s a no-brainer. They did a couple of songs, but are waiting to see which one comes out best.”
Kylie parted ways with her record label of 15 years recently as well as her management Roc Nation, owned by Jay Z, which has allowed the Spinning Around singer to pair up with her little sister again and enjoy more musical freedom.
The 47-year-old is also feeling the pressure on this latest album after her previous record failed to perform, which would explain why she’s pulling out all the stops!
