Controversial radio host, Kyle Sandilands announced on air last week that his eight-year relationship with Imogen Anthony had “run its course”, but friends reveal the couple had been living apart for at least six months before Kyle confirmed the split.
“Kyle has fallen for his personal assistant Tegan [Kynaston],” reveals one mate.
“Everyone in Kyle’s inner circle, including Imogen, has known about the relationship for a while, and given that Kyle and Imogen haven’t lived together for most of the past year, I’m surprised the news hasn’t come out before this.”
The new woman in 48-year-old Kyle’s life was his former assistant, now the director of communications at Kyle’s promotional company, King Kyle Pty Ltd, and a “huge influence” in his life, according to close friends.
“It’s become increasingly serious,” says one mate.
“Kyle endorsed Tegan’s brother’s wine company, Nueva Sangria, to help out the family in June, and when Kyle was with Tegan in LA in September, they were clearly a couple. It’s no secret to anyone in the inner circle.”

Tegan, 33, is understood to have started working for Kyle, 48, as his personal assistant about 18 months ago with their relationship blossoming into something more personal in recent months following his secret split from Imogen in May.
Just seven weeks ago Tegan was seen comforting Kyle in LA when he was forced to flee Australia amid death threats after he made an offensive joke about the Virgin Mary.
Imogen, 28, was in LA partying up a storm last week when Kyle announced on air that “we haven’t been living with each other for quite a few months now” and “unfortunately, it’s just run its course”.
Friends say the announcement caught Imogen by surprise and she almost broke down in tears when she flew into Sydney last Wednesday.
In recent months, the couple denied split rumours, even celebrating their “odd kinda love” on social media in June when they were already living apart.
