In case you missed it, Meghan Markle’s estranged half-sister, Samantha Grant, is doing the mother of all numbers on her sibling and writing a tell-all book about the supposed “pushy princess.”
Charming, right?
And on Tuesday the aspiring writer, who shares the same father as Meghan, phoned into the Kyle and Jackie O Show on KIIS FM to chat about her controversial new project.
Things went south pretty quickly after she pulled Kyle Sandilands up for calling her “Samantha Markle-Grant.”
“Grant is a writer and a stage name,” she corrected.
“Well, no one cares about that – let’s not get bogged down on it. Let’s get bogged down on why you wrote a book about your sister,” an enraged Kyle hit back.
The 51-year-old is currently working on a new book about her family called The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister.
Defending her upcoming tome, the 51-year-old insisted she wasn’t throwing her sister under the bus.
“Well it’s not entirely about her – I think the public has got it all wrong. The book is more about my bi-racial evolution,” she told them.
“After my birth out of the ’60s following a lot of historical events and then seeing the faith of my sister and then developing an eternal colour blindness. It’s all positive and I think it’s uncanny the media slanders going on here, assuming the worst, assuming a horrible tell-all.”
Jackie O wasn’t convinced and asked why the title was The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister.
To which Samantha replied, “It is a working title. I have a background in marketing and promotions.”
This week Samantha Grant told Kyle and Jackie O she wasn’t selling out her half-sister, despite using her name in the book’s title.
“I decided to make the title controversial and opposite to the theme of the book for strategic reasons because I feel that it highlights what is going on in the media.”
Jackie continued to probe, asking: “So you will admit that you’re using your sister’s fame and her name at the moment to sell this book which isn’t anything to do with your sister?”
“No! That’s not true,” the writer offered.
Not missing a beat, Kyle lashed out at their guest before hanging up on her.
“Why didn’t you call the book My Boring Life,” he fumed.
“Why did you bring your sister into it? For the marketing reasons? See you later! You sound like such a bore.”
“Not interested. Don’t use your sister’s name to trick media organisations into pushing your s— book. You’re gone. See ya, bye. What a loser.”
We never thought we’d say this, but Kyle Sandilands – you just took the words out of our mouth!
Prince Harry’s partner is yet to comment on the book.
