Attention all, you’ll want to send this article to your significant other as a helpful nudge on how to step it up in the romance department.

This week, Keith Urban dropped by his American Idol mate Harry Connick Jr’s talk show.

Casually chatting about his wife Nicole Kidman, he recalled one of their “fly by” dates.

You guys!

“I flew to Sydney once when Nic was pregnant and she was having an ultrasound and I was on tour in the states and so I just got on a plane and got down there,” he shared.

That’s right, Keith Urban – Grammy winner, singing sensation and now our new favourite A-list husband – flew 24-hours to see his wife for less than half a day when she was pregnant with their first child, Sunday Rose.

“I think the flight landed at 9:00am, we went and had the ultrasound, went and had lunch and then it was a 2:00pm departure back to the states — so lunch, ultra sound and home and back on the road again.”

The Aussie sweethearts are the proud parents to daughters, Sunday Rose, eight, and Faith Margaret, six, who was born via a surrogate.

This isn’t the first time The Kuzzle had us wishing we had someone to nuzzle.

Nic and Keith have been a sweeping whirlwind since the moment they tied the knot back in 2006.

But just like all fairytale romances, this one took its time.

“I remember thinking I had such a crush on him, and he wasn’t interested in me,” Nic recently admitted to Ellen DeGeneres, telling her it took the singer FOUR months to call her back.

Thankfully Keith changed his tune.

“I’m like, ‘You didn’t love me at first sight, you didn’t notice me,’ and he’s like, ‘Yes I did but I just didn’t let on,’ but we kind of met and then about four months later he called me.”

Nicole and Keith couldn’t have looked more in love as they were spotted enjoying a day at one of Sydney’s finest beaches over the Christmas break last year.

For their 10-year wedding anniversary in 2016, Nic told E! News, “We actually said we’re going to celebrate all year.”

Keith, who was with her at the time, chimed in, “We just feel incredibly lucky.”

These days they’re the picture of unity, but Nicole and Keith had a very rough start to their marriage.

In October 2006, just a couple of months after their wedding, the singer checked himself into rehab for his alcohol addiction.

His actress wife was in the middle of her press tour for the film Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus – which she cancelled immediately.

Keith was performing at last year’s CNN’s New Year’s Eve gig in Nashville when Nic joined him on stage.

After coming out the other end, a healthier and happier man, Keith reflected on that period.

“I was going to lose it all,” he told People in November 2007.

“It was like, ‘If I don’t choose this moment to do the right thing and do something that’s going to give me life, all of the things I’m scared of losing, I’m going to lose anyway.”

“Definitely we both met each other exactly at the right time,” he said.

“She said early on that she wanted to be brave with me. I feel there was something else at work, bringing us together and then just continuing to watch over us.”

The beloved musician mused that it was “very, very hard to have to have her go through that.”

“I looked up at him at one point and I saw his tattoos and his foot going, and he had the guitar, and I was like, ‘God, I love that man. I’m so glad I’m in this world,'” Nic has said.

As for Nicole, she believes honesty was the best policy.

“You can try and hide it, smoke and mirrors and all, but then how do I visit every weekend?” She confessed to Vanity Fair a year after Keith’s admission into rehab. “It’s been a huge lesson for me too.”

“I think we were two lonely people,” the mum-of-four mused, having at the time only known Keith for two years.

“I would probably say that two very lonely people managed to meet at a time when they could open themselves to each other. We were a mixture of frightened and brave.”

“I’ve learned an enormous amount having a relationship with someone who is in recovery. I’m more than willing to walk it with him. The two of us are very committed to our relationship.”

And Keith has echoed that sentiment ever since.

In 2012 the singer was faced with a career-defining decision – Keith needed vocal surgery. He admitting to Rolling Stone at the time he was scarred about the effects, but his wife talked him off the ledge.

“For some reason, no. I thought I was in really good hands. I had Nic with me—she was such a rock. That helped hugely. She came all the way up to Boston, where I had the surgery, and she was with me the whole way.”

In case Keith hasn’t professed his feelings enough, just last month he told CBS News, “Meeting her and getting married wasn’t life-changing, it was life-beginning.”

“It was literally, like, ‘OK, life starts.'”

This year, on June 25 the lovebirds will hit their 11th wedding anniversary.

The adorable moment Keith showed Jimmy Fallon what could have been.

With so many Hollywood relationships fizzling, how do these two keep the spark alive?

“We just work at it. We love each other and we work at it. It’s beautiful work,” Keith remarked during one of his Idol interviews.

And the 49-year-old isn’t kidding.

A few years back, Nicole let the world in on the secret to her happy romance – love letters.

“For every single night he’s away, he leaves me a love letter. Every single night of our relationship,” the now-49-year-old told Marie Claire.

A romantic at heart, Keith once quipped, “I have a wife who is just from another planet. She is so celestial. I say that I was born into her. That is the best way I can describe how I feel about her and us.”

They can’t keep their eyes off each other.

The pair also do their very best to remain together, in the same location, despite their hectic schedules.

“Keith and I are both gypsies at heart. We can make our home wherever we are. The girls are like that too now, so we take them everywhere.”

Giving us an example of what Keith does for love, last year the Aussie beauty made us all sigh collectively.

“I had an opening of the play three nights ago [Photograph 51, in London], and he’s in the middle of a tour in the States,” she told DuJour.

“I said, ‘It’s too much for you to have to fly all the way back, don’t worry,’ and he said, ‘I’m flying.’ He flew 10 hours to come and be with me for the night, and then he flew back and did a gig. That for me is love in action.”

“That’s extraordinary. But I would do the same for him and that’s what we’ve committed to as a couple.”
