Katy Perry, who broke things off with boyfriend Orlando Bloom just last week, walked the red carpet at Sunday’s iHeartRadio Music Awards. She looked confident and self-assured, ready to tackle any post-breakup queries that came her way.
But thanks to a handful of eagled-eyed fans, the 32-year-old would soon realise that her pearly white grin was peppered with the ghosts of lunches past.
On a side note, there also seemed to be a Nike swoosh emblazoned on the pop star’s first premolar, which has left us wondering… are grills making their comeback?
Taking the somewhat-embarrassing but ever-relatable incident in her stride, Katy took to Instagram to call out her squad for failing to alert her to the quinoa lodged in her teeth.
Captioning a close-up shot of her speckled grin, she wrote, “Currently taking applications for real friends who aren’t afraid to tell me there’s quinoa in my teeth.”
After all – any true friend should be on alert for marred smiles, bad breath and post-gym body odour.
While at the music awards, Katy also showed off her break-over haircut. The surprising new ‘do was debuted on her Snapchat, just days after the Oscars and her breakup from the English actor.
She went from a platinum blonde, shoulder-length bob to a choppy and edgy shorter style, with shaved sides. We can’t decide if it’s more Miley Cyrus or Scarlett Johansson?

Slight speckles aside, the 32-year-old looked stunning at the event.
Katy made headlines earlier in the month as it was announced that she and her beau of over one-year, Orlando Bloom, had called time on their relationship.
The duo were first spotted together at a Golden Globes after party in January 2016. And in a world of full circles, Katy and Orly were last spotted at an Oscar after party on Sunday, February 26.
“Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time,” a statement on behalf of the couple released to Us Weekly read.

But we remain hopeful that the duo might yet find their feet – Katy is a huge fan of an on-again-off-again romance. Before Orlando, Katy dated John Mayer on and off before calling it quits for good in 2015.
Before their high-publicised breakup, the singer was married to Russell Brand from October 2010 to July 2012.
Meanwhile, actor Orlando was married to Australia’s very own Miranda Kerr before they filed to end their union in 2013. They share their six-year-old Flynn.
