Kate and Stuart were spotted on a happy family outing at Sydney’s Coogee Beach last week with their two- year-old daughter Mae.
It follows the couple’s six-year wedding anniversary celebrations on a make-or-break holiday in Western Australia days before.
“Six years ago today… #wedragged everyonetolaunceston #happy anniversary,” the radio host captioned celebratory selfie.
Friends say Kate and Stuart’s getaway was a last attempt to fix their fractured relationship.
“Kate and Stu’s relationship has been on the rocks since November last year. They didn’t want anyone to know because they haven’t decided if they’ll 100 per cent divorce yet,” a mutual friend of the duo revealed to Woman’s Day.
Cracks first started to appear when a lonely looking Kate was spotted crying in a park as she looked at a real estate brochure.
It was then revealed that Stuart was living at the couple’s newly purchased home near Bowral in the NSW Southern Highlands, while she remained in Sydney with their little girl.
“Yes, they’re living apart for now, but they still see each other regularly for the sake of Mae,” our insider confirmed to us.
But it looks like it won’t be long before the couple and their little girl are back together and all living under the same roof.
The Home and Away starlet recently turned to her roots to get her through the difficult time.
Last month, she headed to her former home Summer Bay, aka Sydney’s Palm Beach where the iconic Australian soapie is filmed to do some much-needed soul-searching.
Kate, who played the beloved character Sally Fletcher for over two decades on the long-running soapie, took to Instagram to share with her 112k followers a rather telling message.
“It doesn’t quite solve the big issues like it used to but continues to have its claws in my heart and offer me some quiet #palmbeach #summerbay #stillhaventbeentothelighthouse,” she penned alongside a sweet selfie.
In another post from the same outing, the 38-year-old reflected, “Sometimes you’ve just got to put your toes in the sand #palmy”
And it turns out Summer Bay held many of the answers Kate was seeking.
Leaning on loved ones in her hour of need, the pretty brunette turned to an old friend, Bec Hewitt.
“Kate reached out to Bec when her marriage started to fall apart,” our insider explained.
“Bec’s always had a huge heart and she loves nurturing others. She and Kate might have had their differences in the past but she would never let down a friend in need.”
Meeting up for a girls’ night recently in Sydney, the pair couldn’t have looked happier.
“Precious company. Even after all these years,” Kate said about her time with Bec.
The ladies were joined by girlfriends, Seven’s head of drama Julie McGauran and Foxtel publicist Victoria Richards, with Kate adding hashtags #grateful and #outonatuesday”, to describe the evening.
Also supporting Kate is her mum Heather. Thankful for the help, she penned this sweet tribute, saying, “I love you Mum, and Mae adores her Nanny. We are so thankful for you.”
The Home and Away star and her NRL beau tied the knot in 2010, after dating for two years.
They welcomed their daughter, Mae, in August, 2014.
In the past, the TV legend has voiced her desire to give her little girl a sibling.
Chatting to The Daily Edition, she confirmed that she and Stuart can’t wait to expand their family, “There will be more children.”
And with the couple’s recent reunion, those plans seem to be back on the right track!
