He’s the proud father to three children with his ex-wife, Cassandra Thorburn.
But in the wake of their high-profile split, it appears Karl Stefanovic’s oldest son Jackson is opting to ditch the Stefanovic surname and is now going by his mother’s maiden name, Thorburn, on his Instagram account.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the 18-year-old’s Instagram handle was previously @jackson_stefanovic however it’s now @jackson_thorburn.
It’s not known if Jackson’s name change has been updated legally.
The last time Jackson featured on the Today star’s Instagram account was in November 2015, when the father-son duo posed for a silly selfie together. In the snap, Karl has tagged his son under his former handle @Jackson_Stefanovic.
This latest development comes off the back of a source telling Woman’s Day Karl and Jackson “have been estranged for some time” and he wasn’t invited to his father’s commitment ceremony with new partner Jasmine Yarbrough last month.

While Cass previously opened up about just how hard the split has been for her and her three children sons Jackson and River, 11, and daughter Ava, 12.
“The children still have a father but I don’t have a husband. He really is dead to me and no, we won’t ever be friends again,” Cass explained to Woman’s Day.
Despite the heartbreak of closing the door on their 21-year marriage, Cass is looking towards the future.
“I’ve really turned a corner – I often look back and am comforted at just how far I’ve come. I’m unstoppable, and I’ve never felt more empowered.”

Meanwhile, Karl’s rumoured Today‘s replacement Ben Frodham has taken to Instagram to confirm he’ll be manning the show all this week alongside Georgie Gardner.
“I’m hosting @thetodayshow this week with this awesome human. Tune in,” Ben said.
In the past when Karl steps away from the Today desk, it’s often on assignment for 60 Minutes.
