Karl Stefanovic and Jasmine Yarbrough have made their first formal appearance together as an engaged couple.
And while the duo are yet to officially confirm their happy engagement news, the old adage ‘a picture tells a thousand words’ certainly seems to apply in this instance.
Karl, 43, and Jasmine, 34, who have been dating for just over a year, stepped out for Harper’s Bazaar Australia’s 20th anniversary party in Barangaroo, Sydney on Tuesday night.
The former model-turned-shoe-designer celebrated the occasion in a semi-sheer black dress, which featured cascading panels of fringe. She accented the look with a pair of gold and black high heels, gold earrings and, of course, her new engagement ring.
Jasmine championed her princess-cut sparkler as she posed for photographs without her better half, who refused to stand in front of the media wall and attempted to dodge cameras throughout the evening.
This isn’t the first photo we’ve seen of the new bling.
Karl and Jas were recently pictured at a swanky lunch where the blonde made no effort to conceal a sparkling ring on that all-important finger.
Taking to Instagram, she shared a picture of herself alongside her new fiancé and a group of friends as they dined at Otto Ristorante in the Sydney suburb of Woolloomooloo.
Jas’ followers were quick to share their congratulations, with many speculating that the lazy affair may have been thrown in honour of a newly-formed bridal party.
“Love the ring! 💍 Wedding/Bridal party talk over lunch? 🌹💖,” one commenter wrote, while another added: “I guess that means you’re engaged!”
A third noted: “Congratulations Jas. So excited for you both such wonderful news 💗”
The outing came just days after the Today star’s ex-wife, Cassandra Thorburn, opened up about the breakdown of their 21-year marriage.
In an interview with Woman’s Day, the mother-of-three said she had been given a “second chance” at the life she truly deserves.
“I’ve really turned a corner – I often look back and am comforted at just how far I’ve come. I’m unstoppable, and I’ve never felt more empowered.”
Karl too has spoken out about the highly-publicised split.
“I certainly did not expect to meet someone five months after I broke up with my wife,” he told Stellar magazine in a lengthy interview.
“That was not planned, I did not know her before. I met her on a boat in Sydney. We have a really lovely relationship, but it’s got to be slow for a variety of reasons. I’m not going to share too much on that publicly because I don’t think that’s fair on anyone involved.”
He continued: “It was unexpected and lovely, but we’re going to try to keep a level of privacy to how we’re going and what we’re planning, especially considering I have three beautiful children who need to be taken into consideration.”
Congratulations again to the happy couple!
