Speaking with The Daily Telegraph, the 25-year-old former pageant queen explained that she and her AFL star husband, Buddy Franklin, 29, will spend their first year of marriage committed entirely to each other.
“For me focusing on my career and Buddy with footy, it is a big year for him, so for us we are focusing on our careers and when the time is right, it will be the right time,” Jesinta said.
She added: “No plans yet, who knows.”
As part of her first photo shoot since the TV presenter’s top-secret nuptials, Jesinta recently revealed to Harper’s Bazaar that “getting married was such a sacred, reverent thing we wanted to keep it just for ourselves.”
According to friends close to the pair, Jesinta and Buddy used the aliases “Shaz and Tony” to book everything. Guests even posted their congratulations to social media with hilarious pseudonyms in their captions.
“Tony and Shaz congrats!!! Great day,” one attendee wrote.
Despite it being a lavish event, sources noted it was “pulled together really quickly”.
To ensure the location of the nuptials remained a secret, friends and loved ones were asked to post various red-herrings to throw people off the case with some attendees checking into the Barossa Valley, while others chose New Zealand’s Queenstown.
It was eventually confirmed that event took place at Mount Wilson’s Wildenstein Gardens in the beautiful Blue Mountains region of NSW.
A guest at the intimate affair told Fairfax Media, “only their immediate friends and family, no cousins or anything” were invited.
“It wasn’t a stuffy wedding. She [Jesinta] is known for being laid back and easy going and that’s exactly what she was as a bride. They danced all night long and were surrounded by people who love and respect them.”
We wish Jesinta and Buddy all the best for their first year of marriage!
