In an interview published in the May issue of The Australian Womenโs Weekly, the former Newcastle cheerleader strongly denies having work โ despite it being a topic that stalks her, particularly on the internet.
โWhen someone says โunder the knifeโ I donโt have a reaction. Everyone in the industry gets that. Thatโs fine. Iโm cool with that,โ she tells The Weekly.
โIโm cool with people having an opinion, but as I said, I am happy with who I am as a person and really just want to live my life. I canโt live my life around what other people say. They just donโt get me, thatโs how I take it.โ
The 30-year-old, who started swimwear company, Cozi, and bronzing cosmetic range, Jbronze, also speaks candidly about her celebrity and how life has changed since the 2004 Miss Universe pageant in Ecuador a decade ago.
โWhen I first came to Sydney, I didnโt have a plan,โ Jen tells The Weekly. โWhat I was hoping was to earn enough money to buy my first car. Even when I entered Miss Universe, I was excited because I was going overseas for the first time โ a free trip and lots of fun โ not because I thought I had a chance of winning.
โBut here I am, 10 years later, with my head still in the clouds. I have had goals and plans, and I have worked really hard, but to be honest, I never expected things to turn out like this. I just grabbed an opportunity and Iโve been riding it,โ she says.
โEven if everything stopped tomorrow, Iโd still be immensely grateful for everything thatโs happened to me because the truth is that it could all have gone pear-shaped.โ
