Jasmine Yarbrough has defended boyfriend Karl Stefanovic just days after Cassandra Thorburn said he was ‘dead to her’.
The model-turned-designer said the high-profile relationship had its challenges, but described the morning show presenter as “supportive” and she’s “very happy”.
“Karl is such an amazing, major supporter of me. He is such a great guy,” the 33-year-old told The Daily Telegraph.
“He is a lovely man. I feel so lucky and supported. I am very happy.”
The pair met through mutual friends last December, months after Stefanovic, 43, announced his separation from his wife of 21 years.
Yarbrough confessed having a relationship in the spotlight had been difficult, but her family and friends helped her through the more challenging times.
“I have great friends and family around me and they have been an amazing support,” she said.
“I am blessed to have such support.”
Last week, Thorburn opened up about how difficult she found adjusting to life as a single mum.
“I questioned and doubted myself about everything,” the 46-year-old admitted to Woman’s Day.
“I slept on the couch in front of the fire for months because I didn’t want to go near the marital bed. I was in a very dark place.”
She told Woman’s Day it had felt like she was mourning.
“I realised I was going through stages of grief, and to me it was like someone had died,” she said.
“The children still have a father but I don’t have a husband. He really is dead to me and no, we won’t ever be friends again.”
Yarbrough has spent years shuffling between Los Angeles and Australia, but is now believed to be living with Stefanovic in Sydney.
Woman’s Day understands the children are yet to meet Yarbrough, despite the pair living in the next suburb.
