Jasmine Stefanovic fits the bill of a “supermum” to a T. She balances her lucrative luxury footwear company with being a mother to a one-year-old and stepmum to her husband Karl Stefanovic’s three children – all without breaking a sweat.
The 37-year-old recently opened up on how she juggles her thriving business with raising 18-month-old Harper, but acknowledged she has it a lot easier than most working Aussie mums.
“It can be a challenge at times but I think you do the best you can,” Jasmine told Sydney Confidential.
“I love being with my daughter. It’s the greatest gift. And I’m fortunate to have a business which allows me to dive in and out.
“Managing everything is tough and I work hard but I count myself extraordinarily lucky. There are people whose struggle is real and the pressures are immense. My heart goes out to them. I’m very, very lucky.”
Jasmine is one half of the luxury show brand Mara and Mine, along with Tamie Ingham, an heir to the Ingham’s Chicken fortune. Their designs have been have been spotted on the feet of stars including Margot Robbie, Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne.
The business-savvy pair admitted that while the COVID-19 pandemic has been tough to navigate, they have managed to find new ways to not only stay afloat, but prosper.
“Like any small business the past two years have been very difficult. We had to pivot and reshape the business without consistent retail,” Jasmine revealed, adding that she and Tami shifted their focus online during on-and-off lockdowns.
While her Mara and Mine designs were popular overseas, the brand was yet to crack the Australian market. But soon after she started dating Karl, her fame skyrocketed.
Now Mara and Mine shoes are stocked in David Jones and the brand has a flagship store on an exclusive luxury shopping strip in Sydney’s Paddington.
More recently, Jasmine and Tamie added Mara and Mine’s latest bricks and mortar store in Birkenhead Point.
Jasmine, met Karl, 47, on board a luxury boat on Sydney Harbour in December 2016, five months after he split with his wife of 21 years, Cassandra Thorburn.
