The Bachelorette star Jarrod Woodgate caused a stir recently when he shared snaps of his “proposal” to girlfriend Sam Royce.
However, talking to Woman’s Day, Jarrod says it’s more of a commitment ring to solidify their healthy relationship.
“It’s a ‘thank you for showing me what a healthy relationship is and how I deserve to be treated’ ring,” he says.
In what appeared to be a dig at former girlfriend Keira Maguire, 33, who he dated on-and-off for a year, Jarrod said it was nice to be in a relationship that isn’t as superficial.
“It’s nice to be loved for who I am on the inside, not my profile,” he adds.
“I’ve finally realised that no amount of designer clothes, fancy restaurants or exclusive parties can compare to being treated well and being encouraged to be my true dorky self.”
Jarrod sent tongues wagging when this image emerged of the reality star down on one knee.

After splitting with Jarrod last year, Keira was previously said to be furious about her ex’s new relationship.
“She was still hoping Jarrod would change his mind and want her back, so when she saw him cuddling up to Sam on Instagram it was like a slap in the face,” a source previously told Woman’s Day.

Jarrod claims the ring he gifted girlfriend Sam was a “commitment ring”.

“It certainly doesn’t help that Sam could pass as her twin, which is why she has been laughing with her mates and calling her the Kmart version!”
Jarrod was previously in a relationship with Keira Maguire (pictured) after meeting on Bachelor in Paradise.

“Jarrod’s been telling everyone who will listen that Sam is so different to Keira. He loves that she’s so career-driven and is making a real difference in the world,” our spy said.
“Sam enjoys the simple things in life, and that’s what Jarrod felt he was missing with Keira.”
