Of all the many roles Jamie Foxx has played, there’s none he finds more rewarding than that of father to girls Corrine, 22, and Annalise, seven.

Speaking recently to People at the red-carpet premiere of his latest flick Sleepless, the 49-year-old opened up about how he deals with his eldest dating.

“[I’m] papa bear,” he responded when asked if he’s protective over his brood. “You got to do your thing.”

“I know there’s guys out there. I used to be on the other side,” he says.

Opening up about the kind of guy he’d like for his daughters, he says: “I’m not saying he got to be no softie, I don’t want that.”

As little Annalise is still only seven, Jamie has to deal with only one dating daughter!

“But [he can’t be] afraid of you going to get your career. Don’t take no back seat to nobody. If you walk in with somebody that you take a back seat to, I’m going to check you first and then it’s about him.”

“She takes that with her so that when she does go out and she finds the guy that she’s with now, they understand that and uplift each other,” he finishes, making hearts melt everywhere.

Rumours are Jamie is secretly engaged to on-off girlfriend Katie Holmes.

While Jamie shares his two girls with former flames, rumours are that he may soon assume the role as step-father to girlfriend Katie Holmes’ mini-me Suri.

It was last year reported by Radar Online that the actor and his daughters had indeed been introduced to the brunette beauty’s 10-year-old, whom she shares with ex Tom Cruise.

Although neither party have commented on their romance, the pair have been linked together since 2013.
