In an interview with Us Weekly, Bindi Irwin talks about trading her famous khakis for grown up glam and how she’s making her late father proud.
“I’ll always feel most comfortable in khaki surrounded by animals, but it is really fun to try different styles,” the 16-year-old told the magazine, before revealing: “I’m kind of stepping away from khaki!”
She may be wearing different clothes these days but her mind is still very much focused on wildlife conservation, with the teenager still heavily involved with Australia Zoo along with her mum Terry and 11-year-old brother Robert.
The wildlife warrior, who lost her father in 2006 stingray accident explained: “I hope he’s proud, that’s my end goal.”
“He was like our living, breathing superhero. He was so passionate and clever,” she poignantly added.
Earlier this month, the Logie Award-winner proved she is indeed is all grown up, with a stunning selfie on Instagram.
She captioned the sweet snap: “To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.”
Although she’ll always be out little wildlife warrior, we love watching Bindi grow up into an inspirational young lady!
