The triple threat: model, singer and actress, was delighted to share the exciting news on her social media account.
“Bursting with excitement to share that a beautiful little Sagittarius baby is coming our way!!! Due to pop out in December unless he/she has other plans. #wearefamily,” Erica captioned a snap of her ultrasound set against a colourful comic inspired backdrop with the word “pop” in reference to her burgeoning belly.

Many congratulated the expectant mum on Instagram including colleague and fellow Home and Away star, Ada Nicodemou, who wrote: “OMG @erikaheynatz. I’m so excited and thrilled for you. Over the moon!!! Congrats to you both.”
While Erica is an established musical theatre performer, acting in the stage adaption of Legally Blonde and The Rocky Horror Show, she became a household name when she hosted the first two cycles of Australia’s Next Top Model, while many would also remember her as the winner of channel 7 singing competition, It Takes Two back in 2006.

No doubt the pretty blonde will become a Summer Bay favourite as she plays the new biology teacher Charlotte King.
“I had been doing musical theatre, where you get that instant gratification from an audience, so this is so different,” Erica admitted about her new career move.
“Part of me feels like it’s a great thing not to be going straight on screen, because if you were in any way critical of yourself that could be a bad thing. Instead for six months I’ve just been immersing myself in it and learning as I go.”
No word on whether Erica’s pregnancy will be written into the show, but we imagine she’ll be shaking things up in the bay!
